Meet iM3’s Practice Development and Improvement Specialist - Claire Harrison BSc (Hons) RVN VTS (Veterinary Dentistry) AFHEA

Claire is an experienced RVN and gained a Veterinary Technician Specialty in Dentistry in 2013 from the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians. She is currently the UK’s only VTS (Dentistry) and has worked in both general practice and referral settings.
Claire has a strong interest in teaching and helping develop veterinary dentistry in practice. In addition to providing in clinic training and practice development, Claire is a Teaching Fellow in Veterinary Dentistry at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies where she organises and delivers the small animal dentistry curriculum.

Full Day In-Clinic Training (6-8 delegates)
- Dentistry in practice (common findings and dentistry consultations)
- Dentistry equipment and workspace (utilisation, essential equipment and sharpening techniques)
- Dental assessment and charting techniques
- The periodontal cleaning (ultrasonic cleaning and use of hand instruments)
- Dental radiography- positioning techniques
- Dental radiography- Obtaining full mouth surveys and image interpretation
- Local anaesthetic techniques for dentistry patients
- Free choice practical training
- Discussion and recommendations
Skulls will be available but optimal if practice can source a specimen.
Half Day In-Clinic Training(6-8 delegates)
- Dentistry assessment and cleaning (including charting and ultrasonic cleaning)
- Local anaesthetic techniques for dentistry patients
- Dental radiography- positioning techniques and image interpretation
- Dentistry equipment essentials (organisation and sharpening)
- Discussion and recommendations
Skulls will be available but optimal if practice can source a specimen.
Customisable In-clinic course suggestions(Pricing on Request)
- Evening seminar (numbers dependent on available space) followed by full day of training (6-8 delegates) covering topics tailored to the clinic’s requirements.
- 2-day visit for larger practices that require training of more than 6-8 staff members or a visit to another branch surgery (i.e Full day course x2).
- 1.5 or 2-day course for practices that would like to include more topics.
